Isyaku Bala Ibrahim
Isyaku Bala Ibrahim is popularly known as the ‘Nupe Writer’ among Nigerian writers. He invented the Nupe Modern Calendar and numeric symbols in 2012. His major area of interest in writing is the development of indigenous languages in Nigeria. He has written several books in Nupe Language some of the published ones include: EganmaganhiNupe (Nupe Proverbs) – 1000 proverbs with English translation and explanations, 2009; Enyalo (Nupe Arithmetic), 2012; a translation of Muhammad Kuta Yahaya’s play – Ignorance is a Disease into Nupe as (RakpeboBataWun Yi o) with Sadisu Mohammed, 2012. He has over fifteen other titles in Nupe Language which are yet to be published including a translation of BM Dzukogi’s Sex if Beautiful.
Isyaku is a member of the Nupe Language Committee set up by Etsu Nupe, Alhaji (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR; Member, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA); Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM) and others.
He currently works with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja.
